I Was Blessed to be Given Away
This is to all Adoptees and Bio Parents. I was born May 18, 1967. I am a Female. I was born in Topeka Kansas. My Bio Mom gave me away at birth. A lot of adoptees would probably be upset at bio and wonder why would you do this? Well God blessed me with a different perspective on this portion of my life. I was born handicapped my feet were turned around backwards. I was sent from the hospital to a orphanage. Through all of this let me tell you how blessed I was. I stayed in the orphanage until I was some months old. In the orphanges when I was a baby there were so many kids they could not comb girls hair and all these things , so they cut the little girls hair off like boys so they were not a lot of maintenance. So you could imagine what I looked like. I was also remember handicapped with braces on my legs, as the people tell me like Forrest Gump. I have never seen him. I was still crawling around at 1 year old. But, through all of this. Do you know what happened? One blessed day came and a man and a woman came to the orphanage where I was, looking for a boy. All of the kids that the orphanage thought the couple would want was prepared to be shown. So you know what this meant I was bald-headed and handicapped so no showing for me. The perspective kids were in the seating area at the orphanage to be seen by the couple and lo and behold the door to the room that I was in crawling around on the floor was open. This door was adjacent to the room that the couple was in seeing their possible future son or daughter. So I, little old handicapped me crawled past that door and the man looked up and saw me and he told the Social worker at the orphanage well, I would like to take everyone of them with me but the one I am taking is that one that just crawled past that door. That is the one I want. It was me. Thanks God, it was me. The couple talked and decided that it was me they wanted. Guess what? I got myself a family. I have Parents. My parents would not take me from the orphanage until they could go to Sears & Roebuck and get me some things to leave in style in. My mom said the dress I had on was a dingy little dress that looked like a blouse. There was no way I was leaving looking like that. They came back for me with my new cloths and left the ones I had on at the orphanage and told the Social worker that some other child may need these because she won't need them anymore. I was still wanted even if it was just because they had sympathy for me, just kidding I was taken out of the utmost love. I had corrective surgery (Thank God) You can not look at me and tell I was handicapped. I grew hair. I was and still am truly loved. I grew up wanting to do everything in my power to make my Dad never regret me being his choice. My Dad was a licensed Truck Driver, and guess what so am I. When I was growing up and my Dad had farm animals. If my Dad picked up a 50lb sack of feed, guess what? He had to help put one on my shoulder too. I thank God somebody came for me. My Mother and My Father. So that's why I have come to great peace in my life not even knowing my Bio-Mom and having no animosity towards her for giving me away, because I do know one thing for what ever reason she did it I thank God she did because if she would have not I would have never had the pleasure of meeting and loving and being loved by the best two people I could have never imagined or dreamed about. That is my Momma and my Daddy. I have been loved no less than if they had birth me into this world. I could have never been loved a drop more with anyone else. I had the best of this world I am 43 years old and one thing I know if I was never loved and will never be loved again by any other people. I do know I was loved and still is loved by two very wonderful people. What I have learned in my life is that every individual that is placed upon this earth God has a plan for them. Every woman that gives birth is not a Mother. Every man that donates a sperm and makes a baby is not a Father. Every woman that does not have a baby, it doesn't mean you are not a Mother. Every man that does not create a baby, that does not mean you are not a Father. So therefore from true experience just because you did not or do not birth your own does not mean that God does not have a Child just for you. Listen to me I know from experience. I have had the pleasure of knowing. Please give another child the pleasure of knowing. I mean knowing LOVE.
